SHOCKING NEWS; Rangers reveal not paying Philip Clement compensation money due to..
Rangers had to pay a decent compensation to part ways with Philippe Clement and the rest of his coaching staff.
The Ibrox hierarchy decided that the Belgian’s position at the club was untenable and that a change had to be made.
Barry Ferguson has been hired as his replacement and he will be in situ until the end of the season.
Rangers pay significantly more than what was reported initially
It was initially reported that the Ibrox outfit would only have to pay £1.2million to part ways with the Belgian.
That did not seem like much and fans were calling on Patrick Stewart and the board to do so earlier than they eventually did.
However, as it turns out, the Belgian is entitled to a lot more money than that and the club will also have to pay more to his staff.
Daily Record‘s Scott Burns reported on 24 February that the final details of the settlement are still being discussed between Gers and Clement’s representatives.
His severance terms were increased when he signed a new contract in the summer.
It’s still unclear if the Belgian will get a lump sum or if he will be left on gardening leave.
The rest of his staff will also require compensation north of six figures.
Gers fans should welcome Barry Ferguson’s arrival
Ferguson may not be a managerial heavyweight or an up-and-coming tactician, but his appointment at Ibrox should be embraced by the fans.
With his deep connection to the club as a former captain and a proven winner, Ferguson brings a steadying presence during turbulent times.
He is no-nonsense approach and intimate understanding of Gers’ culture and expectations can help restore stability after a period of inconsistency.
While he might not dazzle with innovative tactics, his strength lies in reinforcing the standards.
