Rangers given Alan Pardew choice as next Ibrox manager admission made live on air…

Alan Pardew has made an admission about the next Rangers manager after Philippe Clement was sacked from his role at Ibrox.

Clement was relieved of his duties on 23 February following the Gers’ shocking 2-0 defeat against St Mirren on Saturday.

The Belgian had been under plenty of scrutiny since the start of the season and this recent loss against the Saints was what seemingly tipped the odds out of his favour.

Saturday’s game was the second time this season that Rangers had succumbed to a defeat against Stephen Robinson’s men and was a sad reminder of how far they’ve fallen.

Clement’s sacking has meant that Barry Ferguson has been appointed as interim boss, with former Premier League Manager of the Season Pardew giving his verdict on whether they’ll struggle to find a permanent replacement.

This, however, hasn’t stopped him from having another go at management, with the former Newcastle boss admitting he, alongside any other managers who are out of work, would take the Ibrox job.

“I think you know any manager who’s out of work would be interested in Rangers,” he said on talkSPORT (23 February) when asked directly if he would replace Clement.

“It’s a big club and you know, there’s obviously noises from up there that all is not well and they do look some way away. I mean I watched Celtic’s performance in the week.

Pardew admits he’d take Rangers job if offered it

Pardew has been out of football management since 2023, when he agreed to leave Greek side Aris Thessaloniki by mutual consent.

Since then, he’s seemed to take on a bit more punditry work for the likes of talkSPORT and the BBC.
