Guido Rodriguez ‘already in talks with LaLiga club’ to leave West Ham in summer

Guido Rodriguez hasn’t had the best of times since making the move to West Ham United in the summer transfer window.

The midfielder has been given his fair share of appearances since the campaign kicked off but he’s still not managed to hit the ground running at the London Stadium just yet.

The 2022 World Cup winner was brought in to try and help solidify the Hammers’ midfield ranks and add some energy to it. However, that is not the way things have panned out.

There were plenty of rumours in the winter transfer window around the future of Rodriguez at West Ham, with the midfielder making it fairly obvious that his future lies elsewhere.

Which is why it isn’t all that much of a surprise to see the 30-year-old seemingly vying for an exit once again.

Girona, Villarreal and Real Soceidad want Guido Rodriguez

A return to Real Betis has been on the cards since the start of the Premier League campaign. However, as per a new report from Spanish outlet InfoRealBetis (23 February), each of Girona, Real Sociedad and Villarreal now want to throw their hats into the ring.

The report shares that Rodriguez “wants to return” to La Liga due to the lack of opportunities he’s being given at the London Stadium.

And, while a move to Manuel Pellegrini’s Betis may still be on the cards, the interest from Girona, Real Sociedad and Villarreal is more serious with each of the LaLiga sides having “already contacted” West Ham about a potential move in the summer.

West Ham need to cut their losses with Rodriguez

The fact that James Ward-Prowse was brought back from his season-long loan at Nottingham Forest says all you need to know about the faith Potter has in the Argentine.
