UNBELIEVABLE NEWS;Sean Dyche would be a brilliant Rangers appointment as new manager

Philippe Clement has come under intense pressure at Rangers during a dismal season as sack pressure continues to grow.

The Ibrox club have dropped 13 points behind Celtic in the SPFL and were dumped out of the Scottish Cup by Queens Park at Ibrox – the first time ever against lower-league opposition.

As a result, the club have begun assessing potential replacements in case they are forced to pull the trigger in the coming months before the end of the season.

Former Sir Alex Ferguson number-two Mick Brown told Football Insider that Clement will be sacked if Rangers are eliminated from the Europa League, but is safe until then.

However, former Everton manager Sean Dyche has become the latest name to be linked with the role as tensions continue to build at Ibrox.

Speaking to Football Insider, former England and Burnley goalkeeper Paul Robinson has tipped Dyche to replace Clement after working with the boss first-hand at Turf Moor.

Football Insider revealed on 3 January that former Leicester manager Steve Cooper is one of four frontrunners for the Rangers manager position.

Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes and former Southampton boss Russell Martin have also been linked with the role, while Kevin Muscat remains in the running.

Now, their attentions have turned to Dyche, whose experience, track record, and man-management skills have been highlighted as assets for Rangers.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Robinson explained that Dyche’s style of football may not excite the fans, but he would guarantee results.

“He’s one of the man-managers that I really got on with and understood,” he told Football Insider.

“You can understand the criticism aimed at his style of football and the way his teams play, but he gets results.
