Newcastle United are looking to bolster their attacking options for next season in a bid to strengthen their squad to compete for European football.

The Magpies are currently seventh in the Premier League table and have reached the EFL Cup final, but they are looking to kick on to the next level in the foreseeable future.

Football Insider revealed that signing a right winger is a “top priority” for Newcastle in the summer transfer window.

Eddie Howe wants to bring in attacking players which has led to Newcastle being linked with Bryan Mbeumo and Antoine Semenyo.

Howe wants someone to provide width to the team while also having the ability to cut inside and cause further problems down the middle.

The Magpies have typically been using Jacob Murphy on the right-hand side this season, but Howe wants more competition for the position moving forward.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson revealed the Magpies have “got the funds” to sign Kuhn this summer.

“Whether he can step up to the level of the Premier League is to be seen,” Robinson told Football Insider.

“You look at his record this season, 10 goals, six assists, they paid Rapid Vienna five million for him in January last year.

“So, he’s a player that’s, with no disrespect to Celtic, but if the Premier League go knocking, then they’ve got the funds to be able to do it.

“They could do it at 25 [million], he’s a player who’s ready.

“Put him in the Newcastle squad now, does he play every week? I’m not sure he does.

“The thing for Newcastle is we know how FFP and PSR that we wamp on about every week and how tight that they are.
