Manager tipped to become new Leicester City boss now in danger of suffering humiliating relegation

Leicester City were linked with a number of managers before eventually settling on Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Ruud van Nistelrooy was appointed Leicester City manager in late November 2024, replacing Steve Cooper in the dugout.

The Foxes sacked Cooper amid a poor run of form that had the Midlands outfit flirting with a place in the relegation zone.

Whether or not that proved to be a wise call remains to be seen but right now, it looks as though Leicester have regressed under Van Nistelrooy – even if they are playing slightly better in recent matches.

The Midlands outfit have won just one of their last 10 Premier League games, dropping down to 19th place and two points from safety under Ruud.

While things haven’t worked out for the ex-Manchester United man at the King Power Stadium, another manager linked with Leicester is also having a tough time this season.

Carlos Corberan was linked with Leicester City job

Carlos Corberan began the 2024/25 season as manager of Championship outfit, West Bromwich Albion.

Prior to the season getting underway, the Foxes were looking for a new boss after Enzo Maresca agreed to join Chelsea.

Corberan was linked to Leicester as a potential replacement for Maresca but ended up remaining at the Hawthorns.

The rumours linking the manager with a move to the recently-promoted side once again emerged during the 2024/25 season.

When Cooper was sacked, Corberan was tipped to become Leicester boss but once again, a move did not transpire.

Carlos Corberan in La Liga relegation battle with Valencia

Around a month after Leicester appointed Van Nistelrooy, Corberan signed a three-year deal with La Liga side, Valencia.

Things have not gone to plan for the 41-year-old on his return to Spain, however, with his team now in danger of suffering relegation.
