There was a mass exodus in the summer with , but the new faces in the boardroom are already being tarred with the same brush.

Patrick Stewart fails first Rangers test

After nearly 20 years working for one of the biggest clubs in the world, he isn’t stupid, but he hasn’t covered himself in glory this week.

Despite speaking to Clement after the defeat to Queen’s Park, there was nothing from the club to suggest that Rangers had made any sort of decision on his future.

When the Gers boss appeared for the press conference, the question being asked was “why has the club been silent for a week?”.

Nobody expects Stewart to say that Clement has three games to save his job or something like that, but it is fair to expect an answer as to what is happening after one of the worst results in the club’s history.

Either back him, or sack him, but Stewart has done nothing but let Clement face the abuse on his own.

Is Clement worried about his job?

When asked if he was worried about being called into a meeting to discuss his future, he said:

“No, I’m not. I’m not busy with that, because the board, there’s a lot of people here in the club who are all over the world.

“I’m in contact with Patrick. We had a talk about the game, after the game, like we always do. And it was in the same way as before.

“And of course, I was also frustrated, devastated after the result.

“I was frustrated to be on the sideline during that game.

“You get that amount of chances and the moment you want to shoot the ball yourself into the goal. But that’s not my job to do.”
