One Sunderland player is in outstanding form right now and making a big difference – it’s not Wilson Isidor
It’s hard to give every player in the Sunderland squad the credit they deserve at the moment, given how well the team is performing, but one star is flying under the radar.
Sunderland waltzed to another important victory in their pursuit of promotion on Wednesday night with a 2-0 win over Luton Town at the Stadium of Light.
A sublime goal from Enzo Le Fee — his first in a Sunderland shirt — and a cool finish from Wilson Isidor sealed the victory for the Black Cats and kept them within touching distance of the top two.
The pair have gotten accustomed to stealing the headlines on Wearside of late, with Le Fee praised by Regis Le Bris for his contributions on and off the ball, and Isidor earning the adoration of the Sunderland fans.
But, it’s not just about the flair players grabbing the goals, this Sunderland side is built on a strong foundation with every man doing his job and then some.
Trai Hume can’t stop creating goals
In his last four games, Trai Hume has really shown just how valuable he is to this Sunderland team, contributing three assists and a goal to the cause.
The full-back provided the pass for Le Fee early on against Luton Town on Wednesday, the result of yet another barnstorming burst into the midfield area.
He also had a direct hand in Luke O’Nien’s opening goal against Watford at the weekend, as part of an effective corner kick routine. Hume was on top form that day, though it has to be said he needs to be given more attacking freedom at times.
Before that, Hume was integral to Sunderland’s efforts against Plymouth Argyle, adding a goal and an assist in the 2-2 draw there at the end of January.
