Sensational return on the cards as former Everton manager shares dream of succeeding David Moyes

Sensational return on the cards as former Everton manager shares dream of succeeding David Moyes

Everton have made a bright start to life under David Moyes with a healthy cushion on the relegation zone.

The weekend may have provided a disappointing defeat in the FA Cup against Bournemouth, but Everton have the chance to bounce back on Wednesday night.

In what will be the final Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park, the Toffees can pull 12 points clear of the bottom three with a win over Liverpool.

Moyes has made an excellent start to life back at Everton having won three of his opening four games in the Premier League.

However, it seems there is already one former Everton manager who is gunning for the hot seat on Merseyside.

Duncan Ferguson wants to manage Everton again

Over recent days, Duncan Ferguson went viral with a hilarious video emerging from the stands of a lower league game.

And his name is likely to do the rounds among Everton fans after his recent comments about a potential return to the club.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Ferguson has admitted he would love to manage Everton again one day.

“I would love to be the manager of Everton again. I know it looks a long way off, but that’s the dream. You have to keep your dreams alive, don’t you?” he told Jamie Carragher.

I know what I need to do first; to get a job, have a bit of success, prove myself. But I’d still love it, even if it is five or 10 years from now. I love the club too much to give up that dream.”

Ironically, the Everton legend was speaking to Carragher who admitted he feared Ferguson during their playing days.

The 53-year-old has just departed his managerial role at Inverness with previous spells in the dugout as Everton’s caretaker manager under the days of Farhad Moshiri.
