‘Den of Thieves 3′ Confirmed, Gerard Butler & O’Shea Jackson Jr. Expected to Return
Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr. are set to reunite again in a third Den of Thieves movie.
The actors joined forces for the first time in 2018 and returned for a sequel earlier this year. After Den of Thieves 2: Pantera took the top spot at the box office, it was confirmed that Lionsgate was moving forward with a third movie in the franchise.
According to reporting by Variety, Gerard will return for the new movie, which he will star in and produce through his G-BASE production company. O’Shea is also thought to be returning.
Earlier this month, we learned that there were plans for at least three more movies in the series.
“While researching heists, the research is agnostic to where it takes place in the world. There are three particular ones that are unreal,” director Christian Gudegast told Collider. “One is in Brazil, one is in Africa, and one is in Southeast Asia. The thing about those worlds is that they have a whole different criminal world down there, underground, and characters and everything. It will always be about taking these guys into those worlds.”
It is believed that the third movie will be set in Africa, and Christian teased plans to introduce a new character.
“Den 3 is all ready to go. It’s all outlined. I do notes, files, outlines, and when it’s time to do the script, it’s just basically changing the format, really. So it’s all outlined for the next two,” he said.
