Robbie Fowler was a hero at Leeds United who was adored by some fans, but recent comments suggest he didn’t feel the same way.

Mark Viduka, Robbie Keane, and Jermaine Beckford to name a few, but they once had Fowler on their books, as the Liverpool legend signed at Elland Road in 2001.

Despite only being there for a short time, the former Reds man still had an impressive record of 14 goals in 33 games, as bizarrely Fowler scored three Leeds goals carrying a coin.

Robbie Fowler’s brutal admission about joining Leeds United

Fowler was obviously Liverpool through and through, so when the time came for him to leave Anfield no doubt it was tough.

Nigel Martyn said Leeds shouldn’t have signed Fowler, and the 49-year-old probably felt the same after his recent admission.

The former striker spoke on talkSPORT’s The Lineup about his time at Leeds and how it wasn’t the same as Liverpool, making a brutal claim.

Fowler had a short but sweet stint at Leeds so it may be harsh for the former striker to suggest that he didn’t want to join Leeds from Liverpool, but it doesn’t come as a surprise with Fowler being from Merseyside.
