Michigan Fans Rejoice After Ohio State Announces Major Ryan Day News
The run that Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes went on to close the 2024 season and win the 2025 national championship was quite impressive. From December through January, the Buckeyes beat the likes of the Tennessee Volunteers, Oregon Ducks, Texas Longhorns, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish, all by an average scoring margin of almost 18 points. The end result was a trophy in the first ever 12-team College Football Playoff, and a nice new contract extension for Day. According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Day and the university agreed to a seven-year contract that will tie the head coach to the program through 2031, earning him $12.5 million per year in annual compensation. Buckeyes fans seem to be thrilled about this. Fans of the Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State’s biggest rival, also appear to be thrilled about this.

You see, Ryan Day has a Michigan problem. It was only a couple of months ago that the same Ohio State fans who are celebrating this contract extension were calling for Day to be fired after his fourth-straight loss to the Wolverines, this time at home as 19.5-point favorites.
