Wrexham are doing some crazy things right now, both on and off the field.

Everyone has heard the story of Wrexham and Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, and whether you love or hate the story, it’s undoubtedly an intriguing one.

The Dragons, managed by former Sunderland boss Phil Parkinson, are vying for a third-straight promotion, currently sitting in 3rd place of the League One table after an incredible rise up the pyramid.

Wrexham boast a pretty strong team, too. They signed Jay Rodriguez from Burnley during the January transfer window, who joins a strike force holding names like Paul Mullin and former Sunderland hitman Steven Fletcher.

Now 37, the Scot played for Sunderland between 2012 and 2016. Fletcher made 108 total appearances for the Black Cats, scoring 23 goals and grabbing five assists during that time.

Under Reynolds and McElhenny, Wrexham have become quite a hit with the media. They’re often involved in the unusual and their latest advert is certainly that.

Promoting SToK Cold Brew, an American coffee company which sponsors Wrexham’s SToK Racecourse ground, Hollywood A-lister Channing Tatum featured in an advert alongside the Wrexham players, with Fletcher even getting his moment in front of the camera.

Reynolds posted the video on his personal X account. It’s gotten 5 million hits and has gone viral in the footballing community.

The 33-capped former Scotland international joined Sheffield Wednesday after leaving the Stadium of Light in 2016, then having spells with Stoke City and Dundee United before joining Wrexham in 2023.

Joining as a free agent, Fletcher has proved a fruitful signing for Wrexham scoring 14 goals in 59 total games, including six goals in 23 League One outings in 2024/25.

Now in the final years of his career, Fletcher is also in the final year of his contract at Wrexham and may well depart in the summer.
