Move for Lennon Miller ‘considered’ as Rangers dither on transfer tap in

Rangers are leaving it late if they want to add reinforcements and give Philippe Clement the players that he needs. 

The manager has spoken about the numbers that he would like with all eyes on Ibrox and any potential arrivals.

Across the city and Celtic are “considering” a move for Lennon Miller, according to The Sun, a player who Rangers need so much more than the Scottish Premiership league leaders.

Motherwell have already rejected a bid in the region of £2.5m for the Scotland Under-21 international, which is a more than reasonable stance to take given the midfielder’s progress already.

Rangers were more than happy to commit to transfer fees of over £4m for both Mohamed Diomande and Oscar Cortes with no guarantee that they would adapt and be a success.

There would be no such risk associated with Miller.

Kieran Dowell has joined Birmingham City on loan with Tom Lawrence and Jose Cifuentes also expected to leave the club on a permanent basis in the summer too.

Miller is the perfect fit to rotate with Diomande and Nicolas Raskin whilst also providing competition to Bailey Rice.

“Firstly younger players who have the mentality to play for Rangers and who fit within our financial parameters. And then we have a first-team management group that develops those players so that they’re contributing minutes on the pitch immediately and they’re also increasing in value on the transfer market.

“If you look at this summer I think there are some really good examples of that profile of player. We’ve got Hamza, we’ve got Jefte and Bajrami. They’re good examples of that profile of player.

The second category is talented Scottish players and we want a talented group of young Scottish players not just young players that are going to form the core of the squad.
