Ruud van Nistelrooy has just issued a really encouraging update on Leicester’s transfer plans
Leicester City are in the market for further reinforcements after the signing of Woyo Coulibaly.
City are very light in wide areas and clearly need help defensively, having shipped the third most goals in the entire Premier League.
With that said, van Nistelrooy sat down for his weekly press conference on Thursday afternoon and was asked about the club’s transfer plans and if any additions are expected before the deadline on February 3rd.
Ruud van Nistelrooy says Leicester are working on deals
With the transfer window entering its final few days – that was very much the focus in today’s press conference.
And, when asked about the possibility of any late incomings, Van Nistelrooy provided an encouraging update, suggesting that two deals are being worked on.
“We’re still working on a couple of things,” the Leicester boss explained.
“We know there’s the deadline and that’s what we’re working towards. We’ll work until the last second to get something done.
“If we can get something then great, if not we’ll carry on with this group.”
“Everything is still on the table,” the former Manchester United interim said.
“We have to be open to every idea to try and strengthen the squad.”
If City are only able to do loan deals, then they will have to be overseas recruits due to the domestic loan spots being filled by Facundo Buonanotte and Odsonne Eduoard.
A telling few days await for the Foxes.
Leicester City are aiming to reinforce their forward line before the close of the 2025 winter transfer window.
The Foxes have had a very quiet transfer window so far with just one player signed in the first 30 days.
In it, he confirmed the club are still looking to get some deals over the line before the February 3rd deadline.
