Newcastle United get green light for two new additions after PIF boardroom request

Newcastle United are set to strengthen their boardroom operation with the addition of two key hires to work with sporting director Paul Mitchell.

The Magpies have been given the green light to appoint two important figures that will help the Magpies’ recruitment mission at St James’ Park. Indeed, Mitchell will soon have somebody to work closely with him as an assistant while Newcastle’s Women’s team will bring in an internal supremo to work with the former Monaco man.

The job to work with Mitchell is described as a “high level” position with United saying: “We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Executive Assistant to support our Sporting Director by providing comprehensive organisational, operational, administration and communication support.

“Ensuring rigour and efficiency across the Sporting Directorate, the role will involve diary and communication management and response, UK and global travel arrangements, note taking and expense management. Facilitating leadership and strategic meetings, documenting actions, ensuring accountability, and tracking progress across the Sporting Directorate and creating content for Board and other high-level strategic meetings as required.”

The Women’s team have rose up two divisions after back to back promotions but continue to grow. Mitchell has worked closely with Becky Langley but the club’s ascent on the women’s football circuit will now be bolstered significantly.

Since Mitchell arrived last summer, he has been working closely with the women’s set-up while the man he replaced Dan Ashworth was also a regular face at games at Kingston Park. But this is deemed as a major move by Newcastle as they look to enhance their status as one of Europe’s top clubs in every department.

Mitchell felt it was necessary to add a director of football counterpart to work with Langley and help bring the best talent to Newcastle. United’s pitch for the job reads.
