West Ham submit £29.5m Brian Brobbey bid as loan-to-buy twist emerges

West Ham have submitted a £29.5million bid to sign Brian Brobbey, according to Mike Verweij.

The Dutch journalist reported via X (24 January) that the Hammers are exploring a loan deal with an obligation to buy after Fabrizio Romano shared that Ajax were not interested in a deal for the striker that wasn’t permanent.

Therefore, the Irons will be hoping that their bid with an agreement to make the deal permanent would tempt the Dutch side to let the 22-year-old go to the Premier League.

West Ham need attacking reinforcements

It’s not a surprise to see Graham Potter working hard to try and get an attacker through the door ahead of the second half of the campaign as that is an area where his side is really lacking.

Due to Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug all being unavailable for prolonged periods due to injury issues, the 49-year-old will know that new faces are exactly what is needed.

The Hammers have had a number of potential signings on their radar during thewinter transfer window including Andre Silva, although signing Brobbey instead may be favourable as he is a younger player.

The youngster has two goals and three assists from 10 appearances this term and given Potter’s ability to work with young talent, surely this would only increase under his guidance.

This may be a deal worth making for the Irons with the potential for the striker to be a name for now and the future.
