Morgan Whittaker goes AWOL at Plymouth as long-term Rangers target subject to transfer bids

Long-term Rangers target Morgan Whittaker find himself at the centre of a spat with new Plymouth Argyle manager Miron Muslic.

Austrian-Bosnian manager Muslic didn’t miss when he laid into Morgan Whittaker following Plymouth’s 5-0 home humbling at the hands of Burnley.

The result leaves the club rooked to the bottom of the English Championship and Muslic had some choice words for Whittaker come full-time.That’s despite the forward – who has reportedly been the subject of rejected transfer bids – not being involved in the squad or playing a single minute in the match.

Morgan Whittaker ‘didn’t show up’ for Plymouth

Miron Muslic claims that Morgan Whittaker was supposed to be in the selection for Plymouth Argyle but ‘didn’t show up’ for the match.

Whether the ex-Cercle Brugge manager means the 24-year-old wasn’t in attendance mentally or physically, it remains to be seen.

The comments come with Whittaker strongly linked with a move to Burnley, who like Rangers have been long-term suitors of the talented ex-Swansea forward.“Morgan didn’t show up,” said Muslic, as quoted by BBC Sport.

“He was in the selection. (He didn’t) turn up.

”We had a game today and he was in the selection and he wasn’t there.

“It shows the mentality, or even the lack of mentality.

“I think you always have your responsibilities and you are under contract.

You have to be professional, you have obligations, not only towards Argyle as an organisation, you have an obligation towards your team-mates and you don’t let your team-mates down, never.”

TalkSPORT are reporting that both Burnley and Hull City have had bids rejected for the forward, whilst Whittaker’s camp insist the player had a ‘dead leg’.
