Exclusive: Tottenham ready two late-window signings after Postecoglou plea
Tottenham want to complete two more signings in the last two weeks of the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
Antonín Kinský is Spurs’ only senior arrival so far this month and has already bedded into Ange Postecoglou’s side in the absence of Guglielmo Vicario.
Postecoglou spoke out in the wake of the 3-2 away defeat against Everton on Sunday (19 January) to claim the club’s transfer team are “working hard and trying to find solutions for us” before the 3 February deadline.
He told Sky Sports: “These players need help, for sure. Hopefully in the next 10 days we find a solution for it.”
It is believed a centre-back will be first on the list of priorities for Tottenham, who are currently without key duo Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven – as well as a host of other first-teamers.
Archie Gray and Djed Spence have filled in at centre-back in recent weeks, while Radu Dragusin’s shortcomings have been exposed in the absence of Spurs’ first-choice defenders.
Tottenham sit 15th in the Premier League and are only eight points above the drop zone after 21 games of the 2024-25 campaign.
Tottenham want to follow Kinsky signing with two more deals
Nevertheless, Football Insider revealed on Monday (20 January) that the Lilywhites hierarchy have no plans to sack manager Postecoglou despite awful recent form.
The Australian will instead be backed with crucial new signings in a bid to transform their season.
Spurs are unlikely to mount a challenge for European qualification but could end their trophy drought this term.
Postecoglou’s side, who are without 11 first-teamers through injury, remain active in the FA Cup, Europa League and League Cup this term.
