Everton want to sell Beto for ‘£20m’ and sign replacement immediately

Everton are aiming to offload Beto during the January transfer window to enhance David Moyes’ transfer kitty, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Merseyside giants are looking for “between £15 to £20million to sell Beto” permanently.

The 31-year-old has been at Goodison Park since 2023 but has struggled to make an impact on the first team during that time.

Beto has made 17 appearances across all competitions this season for Everton, scoring five goals and providing one assist.

Everton are looking to offload some players that aren’t in Moyes’ plans to provide him with more finances to reinvest elsewhere, and Beto is falling into that category.

Well-placed sources have revealed to Football Insider that Torino have shown an interest in signing Beto, but the Italian side would prefer to bring him in on loan rather than paying upfront for him.

Everton are ready to offload Beto

Everton will have to sign a replacement for Beto if they are to let him go, which is why the club would prefer a permanent deal over a loan.

The Merseyside giants would save money on Beto’s wages if he was loaned out, but they wouldn’t gain a transfer fee to reinvest in the squad.

Moyes is only willing to let the Guinea-Bissau international leave Goodison Park if he is guaranteed to be bringing in a replacement as he doesn’t want to leave himself short upfront.

Everton have struggled with the attacking side of the game this season, which is something that Moyes is having to address.

Only Southampton have scored fewer goals than Moyes’ side this season, with Everton having only managed 15 goals in 20 games.

The 27-year-old is out of contract at the end of this season, therefore January would be the final opportunity for Southampton to cash in on him.
