Rangers well placed to agree ‘bargain’ Allan Campbell deal
Rangers are currently well placed to sign Luton Town’s Allan Campbell on a “bargain” deal, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that there are a “number of clubs in Scotland” looking at the 26-year-old right now.
Campbell is currently on loan at Charlton, but it’s understood that he’s interested in a move back to his native Scotland where he started his career at Motherwell.
The midfielder is coming to the end of his Luton contract which is why he would be available on a relatively cheap deal as he’s not in their plans moving forward.
Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that Luton wouldn’t stand in Campbell’s way if an offer came in for him during the January transfer window.
However, that would bring an end to his current loan deal at Charlton where he has made 16 appearances this season.
Rangers face competition to sign Allan Campbell
Campbell might be available on a cheaper deal, but the Gers do face competition from Aberdeen, Hearts, and Hibernian in earning his signature.
The midfielder could slot straight into the starting lineup at any of those Scottish Premiership clubs due to his experience, having made 277 career appearances to date.
