‘Rangers to sell Dessers then pay off Clement sack’ – Fans delighted by talks
Rangers fans have reacted to the news that talks have been held over an exit for Cyriel Dessers, calling for the fee to cover the cost of Philippe Clement’s dismissal.
The Gers were held to a 1-1 draw by Dundee on 9 January, leaving them 15 points behind Celtic in the race for the Scottish Premiership title.
Frustration with Clement has been building among the fanbase throughout the season. Many supporters now appear resigned to the idea that the Belgian will soon be shown the door due to his side’s inconsistent performances.
The frustration extends to Dessers, with fans seemingly willing to see him depart following reports surrounding his future.

The Gers have drawn three of their last five matches, and their poor away form continues to haunt them, with only three wins in their last 11 matches this season.
Dessers has come under heavy criticism, with many pointing to his inability to be prolific as a key issue. Although he has scored 12 goals in 30 appearances for the club, his struggles in front of goal and consistent misses in crucial moments have caused frustration among supporters.
Despite the Nigerian international’s 12-goal tally this season, his failure to convert key chances has made him a target for critics, with pundits voicing their concerns over his impact.
Dessers was only signed last season on a four-year deal, meaning a high transfer fee may not be expected should he depart.
Nevertheless, fans have made their voices heard in light of recent reports. One supporter suggested, “Any funds raised should go towards paying Clement off” with others sharing similar sentiments.
