Regis le Bris reveals why he’s signing Enzo Le Fee and how he will fit in Sunderland’s system

The Black Cats take on Stoke City in the FA Cup this weekend, but are waiting on new signing Enzo Le Fee

Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris insisted “we don’t know” when asked whether Enzo Le Fee’s imminent signing will happen in time for the midfielder to play against Stoke City on Saturday.

The Black Cats chief did confirm that Salis Abdul Samed is available, as is Chris Rigg, after injury, and he indicated they are likely to feature. Le Bris confirmed he will go with a strong team against The Potters and will not make more than one or two changes to protect “the dynamic.”

His side will be plotting revenge after a 1-0 Championship defeat on December 29 although Le Bris’ side had won the home clash on December 7. Now comes the final act of the trilogy between the two clubs.

When questioned about Le Fee’s signing, Le Bris was cagey and not wanting to commit. He said: “In this market in particular we spoke about opportunities we could have. And the targets we could have. We want a player that knows the system and is used to playing in this game model and connected with specific identity.

think this player could fit with that but I repeat it’s not done so it’s still a market with many opportunities. Sometimes it’s possible, sometimes not, we will see at the end.”

When questioned further about Le Fee’s position and what he could bring to the team, he added: “He used to play as a 10 and an 8 and sometimes as a 6. Sometimes in a 4-4-2. But we don’t know what will happen. I repeat, it’s not done.”

The midfielder is expected to seal a loan transfer to Wearside from Italian giants AS Roma in the near future, and in doing so.
