‘I’m here to win’: Marquee Wests Tigers recruit Jarome Luai sends stirring message to fans
Marquee Wests Tigers signing Jarome Luai has sent a stirring message to the club’s fans.
With November 1 marking the start of the NRL contract period, Luai is officially a Tiger — nine months after the four-time premiership player confirmed his exit from the Panthers with a new five-year deal.
To mark the first day of pre-season, the playmaker sent a brief message to West Tigers’ members and fans.
“I’m officially a Tiger now and I’m really excited to be a part of this new journey,” he said in a video posted to the Wests Tigers website.
“I can’t wait to meet you guys — to feel your energy and to feel your presence.
“I’m here to win, and I’m here to win consistently, so I hope you guys are ready for the ride. See you guys soon.”
Luai is currently in the United Kingdom captaining Toa Samoa through the side’s two-match Test series against England.
The club also welcomed fellow recruits Jack Bird, Royce Hunt, Jeral Skelton and Sunia Turuva.
Bird will be the first new signing to join pre-season training with the Wests Tigers NRL squad reconvening on Monday.
Hunt and Skelton are expected to join their new teammates at Concord in the first week of December while Turuva and Luai will start pre-season training early in the new year.
