Leicester City is facing renewed uncertainty regarding a potential points deduction due to an alleged breach of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). Reports indicate that Leicester’s financial accounts for the 2022-23 season are expected to show losses exceeding the permitted £105 million over a three-year period. This situation could result in formal charges and penalties for the club, including a points deduction.
Football finance expert Stefan Borson has stated that if Leicester does not manage to resolve this issue favorably, they could be hit with two points deductions next season. This follows a similar fate for clubs like Nottingham Forest, which recently received a four-point deduction for violating PSR rules.
