Clement told to take Ryan Kent back after Fenerbahce exit

Rangers Manager Philippe Clement Urged by Fans to Take Back Ryan Kent After Fenerbahce Exit

Rangers FC manager Philippe Clement is facing mounting pressure from the Ibrox faithful to bring back former star Ryan Kent, following the winger’s unexpected exit from Fenerbahce.

Kent, 27, mutually agreed to terminate his contract with the Turkish giants just 16 months after his move from Rangers, and fans are now calling for his return to Glasgow.

Kent, who was a key figure in Rangers’ title-winning 2020-21 season, left the club in 2023 to pursue a new challenge in Turkey. However, his time at Fenerbahce proved underwhelming, with the Englishman struggling for form and failing to cement a regular starting place under coach Ismail Kartal. As a result, both parties agreed to part ways, leaving Kent a free agent and opening the door for a potential return to Rangers.

Since Kent’s departure, Rangers have undergone significant changes, including the appointment of Philippe Clement as manager. The Belgian coach, who took over from Michael Beale earlier this season, has already overseen an uptick in performances, and fans believe Kent could be the missing piece to further ignite the team’s attack.

Social media has been flooded with messages from Rangers supporters urging Clement and the club’s board to re-sign the winger, who made 187 appearances for the club and was a fan favorite at Ibrox.

“We need Ryan Kent back at Rangers, he knows the club inside out,” one fan tweeted. “Clement should make this his top priority in January.”

While there has been no official comment from Rangers or Kent, Clement did hint in a recent press conference that the club is always exploring ways to improve the squad.

“January is an important window,” Clement said. “We are constantly looking for the right players who fit our vision and can strengthen the team in key areas.”

Whether Kent is part of those plans remains to be seen, but the winger’s free-agent status and deep connection with Rangers make him an attractive option for a mid-season boost. With Celtic currently leading the Scottish Premiership, Rangers may need all the firepower they can muster to mount a title challenge, and Kent’s potential return could offer a much-needed spark.

Kent’s previous spell at Rangers saw him become one of the most dynamic players in Scottish football, combining speed, creativity, and a knack for delivering in big matches. His partnership with striker Alfredo Morelos was particularly potent, and many fans are hoping to see a revival of that chemistry should he rejoin the club.

As the January transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on Ibrox to see if Philippe Clement will heed the fans’ calls and make a move to bring Ryan Kent back home.
