In a shocking turn of events, American soccer superstar Alex Morgan has announced her decision to come out of retirement, setting her sights on the 2025 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Morgan, 35, initially retired in August 2023, citing family and personal reasons. However, after intense training and reflection, she’s decided to rejoin the US Women’s National Team (USWNT).
“I’ve missed the game, and I’m eager to contribute to another World Cup run,” Morgan said in a statement. “My family and I are ready for this new chapter.”
