Edinburgh, Scotland – October 6, 2024
Hibernian FC has announced the immediate departure of their head coach, Steve Gray, following yesterday’s disappointing 2-1 loss to Motherwell FC.
The Easter Road club’s decision comes after a run of poor performances, culminating in the home defeat to Motherwell. This result leaves Hibernian languishing in position place in the Scottish Premiership table.
Club Statement:
“The board of directors has made the difficult decision to part ways with Steve Gray, effective immediately. We appreciate his efforts, but recent results have not met expectations. We must act swiftly to safeguard our season.”
Steve Gray took charge of Hibernian in 2023 and led the team to notable achievements. However, the recent slump has prompted the club to seek new leadership.
Assistant coach, will assume interim managerial duties until a permanent replacement is appointed.
