According to the latest NFL analysis by ESPN, the Chicago Bears have been identified as the ideal landing spot for Denver Broncos’ DJ Jones
Chicago Bears Identified as Possible Trade Destination for $30 Million Defensive Tackle
As the NFL trade deadline looms, rumors have surfaced regarding a potential trade between the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears involving defensive tackle D.J. Jones.
The Bears, who have faced defensive line depth concerns, are seen as a suitable landing spot for Jones, who signed a three-year, $30 million deal with Denver in 2022.
Jones is currently in the final year of that contract, and with Denver’s season underwhelming, he could be moved to a team seeking immediate defensive reinforcement.
Jones, a disruptive presence on the line, has performed solidly with six tackles and one QB hit in the 2024 season. Chicago, under head coach Matt Eberflus, values defensive depth, making Jones a potential solution to bolster their front seven for the remainder of the season.
Other teams reportedly interested include the 49ers, Eagles, Cowboys, and Bengals, but the Bears could be an ideal destination.
If the Bears acquire Jones, he would join a defensive line anchored by Andrew Billings and rookie Gervon Dexter Sr., offering additional veteran experience as the team looks to improve its playoff chances.
