West Bromwich, England – West Bromwich Albion Football Club has announced that manager Carlos Corberán will step down from his position due to health concerns.

Corberán, 40, took charge of the Baggies in 2022 and led the team to a respectable mid-table finish in the Championship last season. However, the Spanish manager has been struggling with health issues in recent months.

“The club can confirm that Carlos Corberán has decided to step down as manager due to health reasons,” West Bromwich Albion said in a statement. “We thank Carlos for his dedication and commitment to the club.”

Assistant coach, Billy McKinlay, will take temporary charge of the team until a permanent replacement is appointed.

Corberán’s Statement:

“I’m deeply saddened to leave West Brom, but my health must be my priority. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have managed this incredible club.”

Potential Replacements:

1. Michael Appleton (former Lincoln City manager)

2. Chris Wilder (ex-Sheffield United manager)

3. Nigel Adkins (former Hull City manager)

West Bromwich Albion’s CEO, Ron Gourlay, praised Corberán’s contributions: “Carlos has been an exceptional manager, and we wish him a speedy recovery.”
