Leicester, England – Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy’s season has been cut short due to a serious injury sustained in training, just hours after scoring in the Foxes’ 2-2 draw with crystals Palace
Vardy, 37, netted his 2nd goal of the season in Saturday’s Premier League match but was forced to leave training early on Monday with a suspected hamstring tear.
Scans confirmed the worst, revealing a severe hamstring injury that will keep the veteran striker sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.
“We’re devastated for Jamie,” said Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers. “He’s been incredible this season, and his experience will be greatly missed.”
Vardy’s injury is a significant blow to Leicester City’s push for European qualification. The club will now rely on backup strikers Patson Daka and to fill the void.
