Leeds United’s new signing has been backed by his old boss
As Daniel Farke waits anxiously on news of Willie Gnonto’s injury sustained on international duty, so the likelihood grows that we will see a full starting debut for new signing Largie Ramazani next weekend. The 22-year-old was signed by Leeds United in the final week of the transfer window, with the winger arriving from Almeira on a deal of around £10m to provide further options out wide.
With Dan James missing from Wales duty with an injury which kept him out of the Hull City victory last time out, Leeds could be down to key wide men as they approach a crunch clash against promotion rivals Burnley at Elland Road.
Ramazani was handed a 16 minute cameo against Hull, but could be needed from the start against Burnley as Leeds’ options face being reduced. The good news for Leeds supporters who didn’t see enough of the player last time out to make a judgement, he’s earned high praise from his former club.
While there was a warning about his lack of experience, the verdict of Almeria manager Rubi on Ramazani is one to offer excitement. “We don’t have a winger like Ramazani,” Rubi told Diario de Almeria.
“It’s true that he’s a player who can make mistakes in his decision-making, but we don’t have players with that spark and electricity in the squad.”
With Gnonto now the main man after the exit of Crysencio Summerville and Luis Sinisterra, losing the Italain for any period would be a blow, with Ramazani needed to step up and fill a potential void.
