Coventry City transfer as midfielder completes move

Coventry City transfer news from CoventryLive as young midfielder returns north of the border for another loan stint

Coventry City’s Ryan Howley has moved to Scottish Championship side Ayr United on a season-long loan. It comes as the midfielder’s second temporary spell north of the border, having spent last season at Premiership side Dundee.

The 20-year-old Sky Blues Academy graduate has made eight senior appearances for City and is now entering the last year of his current contract at the CBS Arena.

He made 14 appearances for Dundee last season when his progress was setback by injuries.

Asked if it’s a big opportunity for the Nuneaton-born player, manager Mark Robins said: “It’s a big season for all of them because they have got to keep performing and every single game is important.

“Whether they are playing here or going out, they have got to forge careers for themselves and make sure that they are doing the right things either here or elsewhere, which will determine what happens to them.”
