Brentford started their Premier League campaign with a narrow 2-1 win over Crystal Palace last week.

The Bees fell short of expectations last season as they finished 16th in the league standings with 39 points.

However, the West Londoners will aim for a comeback in 2024-25 and their supporters will have been encouraged by their impressive start.

They have had an excellent summer transfer window so far but are still looking to bring in new faces before the deadline.

According to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano, Brentford are very close to signing South American wonderkid Gustavo Nunes.

The 18-year-old has reportedly arrived in London and is set to undergo his medical tests at the club’s training ground.

It is said the Premier League outfit will pay around £10 million fee for the Brazilian.

Nunes is an academy product of Gremio who made his first-team debut in February against Sao Luiz. He has struck seven goals and created four assists in 40 appearances across all competitions for the Brazilian Serie A side.

Nunes can play in a variety of attacking roles, but he mainly operates as a left winger.

The 18-year-old could be a success at Brentford but it may take some time before he is ready for the first-team.

Thomas Frank’s side have added some top talents to the squad this summer.

They recently completed a £25m move for Sepp van den Berg from Liverpool just over a week after the arrival of Fabio Carvalho.

The West London side also splashed £30m to bring in young forward Igor Thiago last month.
