Neil McCann could not believe what he was watching as Danilo scored in the huge 6-0 win for Rangers over Ross County at Hampden Park.

The Brazilian scored the final goal in added time, his first in months after his year of injury hell under Philippe Clement at Ibrox.

McCann was shocked at how bad the Ross County defence looked as Danilo rubbed salt into the wounds of the Dingwall outfit on Saturday 24 August.

Speaking live on BBC Sportsound as the last goal went in [24 August, 16:52], McCann could not believe his eyes from Hampden Park.

“This is unbelievable,” he said.

“He’s actually almost turning his back on it, again, I speak about calamity in the Ross County defence at times today, it’s happened again.”

Danilo in unbelievable Rangers moment

The Brazilian will be absolutely buzzing with this Saturday treat.

After a year where at many times he wouldn’t have seen the light at the end of the tunnel, this is the feeling that he will have been craving every step of the way.

Footage emerged recently of him limping out of the tunnel ahead of being back in the squad, with big question marks still surrounding his fitness [Gary Keown].

This poachers’ goal will leave Clement delighted, with Cyriel Dessers also scoring twice as options in the final third look much better all of a sudden.

With Celtic coming up in the first Old Firm of the season though, it’s time to go up another gear and every player in the squad will be needed.

Clement is yet to beat Celtic, and this could be the perfect time with the likes of Matt O’Riley moving away ahead of the August 30 deadline.
