There’s widespread confidence in Denmark that Oscar Schwartau is set to sign for Norwich City in the coming days, although there’s a little disagreement about where the deal is and how much the Canaries will be paying Brøndby.
Friday’s edition of Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet reports Norwich City offered around DKK13m (just under £1.5m) to Brøndby. The 18-year-old has been ‘far down the queue for playing time’ since making his debut at 16, despite being considered one of the club’s brightest talents in recent years.
The youngster’s contract expires next year, and Ekstra Bladet say Brøndby have been ‘desperately’ trying to extend the deal. There’s an acceptance that’s not going to happen now.
Over at Tipsbladet, on Thursday afternoon they reported an agreement based on a figure of DKK19m (which they converted to €2.5m, and which is about £2.1m).
That figure is said to include potential bonus payments so that could explain where the difference between the two comes in.
Oscar Schwartau is now expected to sign a four year contract with Norwich City after passing a medical with the Championship club.
