The Chicago Bears get a highly anticipated return in a position of need.

The Chicago Bears are riding high heading into the 2024 NFL regular season. Caleb Williams looks like a future star, Rome Odunze has shown flashes of an elite receiver, and the defense is much improved from last year. Bears fans have more hope than they had entering this season than they had in recent memory.

That doesn’t mean that there aren’t any question marks. The offensive line has a lot of uncertainty attached to it. Nate Davis has once again been unavailable at training camp, putting his starting role in question. The team added centers Ryan Bates and Coleman Shelton in the offseason, and what role they will have remains to be seen.

In the midst of it all, there is one forgotten member of the offensive line. Kiran Amegadjie, the third-round pick of the Bears in the 2024 NFL Draft, has been working his way back from a quad injury and was placed on the non-football injury list.

According to Courtney Cronin, the rookie offensive tackle out of Yale has been activated and cleared for practice.

Bears News: Third-Round Pick Kiran Amegadjie Activated

Amegadjie was the 75th overall pick in April. A Hinsdale, Illinois native, the six-foot-five tackle was hoping to make an immediate impact as a rookie. He has played left tackle and left guard in college but the Bears have Braxton Jones and Teven Jenkins locked in as starters there.

The 22-year-old may have a better shot at an immediate role on the opposite side of the offensive line. Former first-round pick Darnell Wright is obviously guaranteed to be among the five on the o-line as well but Amegadjie could certainly work his way in there eventually if Nate Davis were to continue his struggles with availability.
