Leeds united update emerges on Jack Clark as Sunderland make decision

Sunderland have slapped a £25million price tag on Jack Clarke amid interest from Leeds United, according to the Sunderland Echo.

The online source reported [19 August] that, while the player has yet to put pen to paper on a new two-year deal at the Stadium of Light, the Black Cats will not be tempted into a sale unless their demands are met.

Daniel Farke’s side want to sign the winger, who came through their academy, before the summer transfer window slams shut on 30 August, searching for a Crysencio Summerville replacement.

Leeds United to sign Jack Clarke before 30 August?

The Whites will be desperate to bring in a player who can have a similar impact to that of Summerville, and Clark might be one of the only figures available of such a demand.

Having notched 15 goals and four assists in the Championship for the Black Cats last season, the 23-year-old winger has gained plenty of interest from clubs in England, with Leeds being one of them.

Summerville’s move to West Ham United has left a gaping hole in Farke’s attacking third, even with Wilfried Gnonto and Dan James taking up their respective winger spots.

Georginio Rutter is nearing a move to Premier League side Brighton [Florian Plettenberg], which would leave Farke with very few choices in his attacking lineup.

Although it seems like a lot of money for Clarke, he could be the difference between Leeds getting promoted and being condemned to a third consecutive campaign in the Championship.
