Danny Rohl has set his sights on further recruits to Sheffield Wednesday’s side.

Sheffield Wednesday have made significant progress in the summer transfer window, bringing in nine new faces to bolster squad depth across the pitch.

Every position has been improved in comparison to last season, notably wing-back with the arrival of Yan Valery and Max Lowe.

Attacking options have also been massively bolstered for Sheffield Wednesday, with Jamal Lowe making an immediate impact that was recognised by Rohl and his connection with Owls fan favourite Josh Windass.

However, there is still a push for Sheffield Wednesday to bring in extra reinforcements in attack, with Sory Kaba emerging as a back-up option if the Owls are unable to bring Ike Ugbo to S6.

Despite the ongoing concerns on who will lead the line for Danny Rohl’s side this season, the German boss is still looking at other ‘interesting’ options.

Sheffield Wednesday targeting Premier League loan moves

Rohl has made it clear that his side are looking to target Premier League talent ahead of the new campaign, with there being players available on loan for Sheffield Wednesday to acquire.

Speaking to The Star, Rohl said: “We have some players in our mind from Premier League clubs that we think would be very interesting to take them.

“Then there will be players who pop up and then we must make a quick decision, this is normal.

“I think in the next weeks it will be interesting what happens in this squad at Sheffield Wednesday.”

Sheffield Wednesday have made just one loan signing so far this summer with James Beadle returning after a brilliant half-a-season in-between the sticks in the 2023/24 campaign.

Sheffield Wednesday have the upper hand in bringing in Premier League loans

It’s very well documented that Rohl can have a significant impact on the development of his younger players, notably Bailey Cadamarteri who was entrusted by the German boss to lead the line on numerous occasions.

Beadle has already thrived during a short spell at Hillsborough, which led to Brighton sending him back for a following season, with the Premier League outfit believing that Sheffield Wednesday is the best place for his development.

As a result, Sheffield Wednesday will be one of the more favourable options when Premier League sides offer a young player to a Championship side, and that all boils down to how Rohl successfully nurtures young talent.

Whether players have decided to commit their future in staying at Sheffield Wednesday, or signed from elsewhere, they always comment on Rohl being the deciding factor for them making that decision, and there is no doubt that potential Premier League loanees will follow suit.
