Rangers sale of Sam Lammers could be key to unlocking a move for Hearts ace Lawrence Shankland, according to the Daily Record.
The newspaper reported this via their online edition on 25 July and stated that the money raised from the sale of the Netherlands international could be put towards a deal for £3million-rated Shankland.
Lammers is on the verge of a return to his home country after FC Twente have made a £2million bid [Daily Mail, 24 July] for the striker.
Rangers need to ensure Sam Lammers finalises his exit from Ibrox this summer
Lammers has had quite a frustrating stint since arriving in Scotland last summer for the reported fee of £3million.
During the first half of last term, the strikers played a total of 31 times for the Gers and only managed to score two goals across all competitions.
An Ibrox exit has been long in the making for Lammers and the fact that the money raised from his sale could bring Shankland in makes an exit seem like a no-brainer.
The Jambos striker has been a long-term target for the Gers and would undoubtedly improve their quality upfront tenfold.
It’s also been said that the Hearts talisman would jump at the chance [Daily Mail, 1 July] to represent Rangers should the opportunity present itself.
