Mark Robins has named his Coventry City team to face Stevenage

Coventry City team news from CoventryLive as the Sky Blues take on League One Stevenage at the Lamex Stadium

New signing Oliver Dovin has travelled but is not in Coventry City’s starting line-up to face League One Stevenage in the club’s third pre-season friendly of the warm-up schedule.

In fact, the Swedish goalkeeper will not feature at all in tonight’s match following his arrival at the weekend from Hammarby.

Mark Robins has opted not to start his Sky Blues big guns, with the likes of Ellis Simms, Jack Rudoni and Ben Sheaf among the subs while Haji Wright is not at the Lamex Stadium after picking up what is understood to be an ankle injury against Getafe CF on Friday night. Midfielder Victor Torp is also absent, understood to be nursing an injury while winger Raphael Borges Rodrigues has travelled but will not feature.

Robins gives early take on squad depth

Brad Collins starts the game in goal with a back four of Jack Burroughs, Bobby Thomas, Liam Kitching and Jay Dasilva behind holding midfielders Kai Andrews and Josh Eccles. Jamie Allen appears to be in the more advanced number ten role in what looks to be shaping up as a 4-2-1-3 formation.

That leaves Fabio Tavares wide right and rookie striker Aidan Dausch expected to deputise once again for Wright on the left, with another development lad, Justin Obikwu leading the line.

City starting XI: Brad Collins; Jack Burroughs, Bobby Thomas, Liam Kitching, Jay Dasilva; Josh Eccles, Kai Andrews; Jamie Allen; Fabio Tavares, Justin Obikwu, Aidan Dausch.

Subs: Ben Wilson (GK) Luis Binks, Jack Rudoni, Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, Ellis Simms, Ephron Mason-Clark, Jake Bidwell, Joel Latibeaudiere, Ben Sheaf, Milan van Ewijk, Ryan Howley, Kasey Palmer.
