London, England – Tottenham Hotspur is on the verge of completing a major coup with the signing of experienced Real Madrid winger Lucas Vázquez on a free transfer.
The 31-year-old Spanish international, whose contract with Real Madrid expired this summer, is expected to undergo a medical at Tottenham’s training ground in the coming days.
Vázquez, who made over 200 appearances for Real Madrid, winning 18 major honors, including three Champions League titles, will bring a wealth of experience and skill to Antonio Conte’s squad.
Tottenham’s manager, Antonio Conte, praised the signing, saying: “Lucas is a talented player who will add depth and quality to our team. His versatility and work rate will be a great asset to us.”
Vázquez will reportedly sign a three-year deal with Tottenham, with an option for a further year.
The signing is seen as a significant statement of intent from Tottenham, as they look to challenge for major honors in the upcoming season.
