Celtic have finally made their first signing of the transfer window after Viljami Sinisalo joined the club from Aston Villa yesterday.
The Finland international arrived for around £1 million yesterday, flying out with Brendan Rodgers’ squad ahead of the Bhoys’ pre-season tour of the USA.
Signalling an end to speculation over the goalkeeper position, Sinisalo will come in as number two behind Kasper Schmeichel. Following his medical yesterday, the 37-year-old is expected to be announced any minute.
Last campaign, Sinisalo made 45 appearances in Sky Bet League One for Exeter City, keeping 13 clean sheets in the process.
Now, he has reacted to the move by posting on Instagram, earning well-wished from former teammates ahead of his Parkhead adventure.

Taking to the social media outlet, Sinisalo posted a photo of him holding the number 12 jersey after completing his move to Glasgow’s east end.
The Finnish goalkeeper accompanied the snap with a caption that read: “Great to be here! Thank you for such a warm welcome. Can’t wait to get going, see you all very soon! @celticfc.”
In the replies, there was a Celtic connection already present, with former striker Jack Aitchison congratulating him on the move by exclaiming ‘Viljamiiiiii’ to his ex-Exeter teammate.
Chelsea summer signing Omari Kellyman also commented, ‘Congrats bro’ below; meanwhile, other professionals in the game and Hoops supporters also expressed their well wishes.
Clearly, Sinisalo is excited about moving to Celtic and will be set on establishing himself as the future number one at the club.
Learning under Schmeichel will be the perfect grounding to achieve this aspiration, and hopefully, fans can see him in action while the Bhoys are in the United States.
