Brentford have fielded enquires from multiple EFL clubs about signing Ethan Brierley on loan, sources have told Football Insider.
The Premier League club are yet to decide on what they want to do with the 20-year-old midfielder this season but are open to letting him leave on loan.
The 20-year-old, who joined Brentford from Rochdale last summer, is highly rated by the powers that be at the west London club.
Brierley impressed manager Thomas Frank last season, making his debut in the Carabao Cup against Newport County and being named on the bench for 13 Premier League games last season.
Brentford happy with Brierley progress
After promoting Brierley from Brentford’s B team to the first-team, minutes have been hard to come by but Frank trusts him enough to keep him in the squad.
At the age of 20, Brierley’s next move will be integral to his progress. If Brentford believe he would be best served going out on loan, there will be plenty of suitors.
The young midfielder’s last loan came when he was still at Rochdale, joining Spennymoor Town FC for half a season in which he made seven appearances and scored once.
Brierley isn’t the only potential Brentford exit, Football Insider revealed that Ivan Toney is keen on joining Manchester United after telling friends.
