Latest Aston Villa news from BirminghamLive as Jaden Philogene is set to return to Villa Park in an £18m deal
Jaden Philogene trained and ate alone during his final days at Hull City, it has been revealed.
Philogene is set to return to Aston Villa less than a year after leaving Villa Park for Hull. The 22-year-old enjoyed an outstanding season with the Tigers in the Championship, scoring 12 goals as they narrowly missed out on the play-offs.
It is understood he will have a medical at Villa today ahead of signing on the dotted line, after they agreed a deal worth £18m with Hull which will see Villa pay £13m due to a 30 percent sell-on clause agreed when they sold him last September.
Philogene left Hull’s pre-season training camp in Istanbul on Friday in order to complete his return to Villa Park, and our sister title HullLive report that while he was at the Championship club’s training base in Riva he did not take part in any first-team training sessions and he did not eat with the rest of the players.
Philogene did a separate individual training session on Friday after the first team had finished theirs before he travelled to Istanbul airport to board a flight back home.
